Jim and his wife Martha and three children live in Nashville. He’s a businessman, attorney and part-time Vanderbilt business professor who travels to Washington most Tuesdays through Thursdays to represent the Nashville area in the U.S. House of Representatives. A Blue Dog Democrat, Cooper’s independent record has earned him a reputation as an honest broker between political parties.
