George O'Connor, Director, is a member of BlackRock's Global Client Group. He is responsible for product research and development for US and Canada iShares.

Mr. O'Connor's service with the firm dates back to 1995, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. At BGI Mr. O'Connor was a senior product developer focusing on institutional products. Prior to that role, Mr. O’Connor was a long standing member of BGI's Securities Lending team where he held a variety of positions including leading the US Securities Lending Trading team responsible for risk management, borrower relationship management and implementation of a globally integrated lending strategy.

Before joining BGI, Mr. O'Connor spent over ten years at Prudential Insurance where he held a variety of roles within the Treasurer’s Department.

Mr. O'Connor earned a BA degree in finance from Montclair State University and an MBA degree in finance from Rutgers University.
