Mr. Trennert is the managing partner and chief investment strategist of Strategas Research Partners, a New York-based firm that provides timely and insightful investment strategy and macroeconomic research to the institutional investment community.
Previously, Mr. Trennert was the chief investment strategist and senior managing director at International Strategy and Investment Group Inc. (ISI Group). In 2006, he was named to SmartMoney's Power 30 list of the most influential people in the world of investing. Mr. Trennert was the head of ISI's investment strategy team, a cornerstone of ISI's investment research product. His team was ranked as one of the best investment strategists in Institutional Investor's poll of money managers in each of the last four years. He was the principal author of ISI's acclaimed Portfolio Strategy Report. Mr. Trennert also built and oversaw ISI's survey research effort, including the creation and development of ISI's Company Survey Report, a weekly research piece that summarizes ISI's industry finding, as well as a monthly equity market strategy piece.
Mr. Trennert is widely quoted in domestic and foreign press. He is a regular guest host on CNBC's Squawk Box, and has been a special guest on Kudlow & Cramer (now Kudlow & Company) and Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser. He is the author of the popular investment book, New Markets, New Strategies, published in 2005 by McGraw-Hill.
Mr. Trennert holds an MBA in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BSFS in international economics from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
